In South-Burgundy there are several sites with what we call ‘acrobranches’ (acrobatics among the branches or climbing through the tree tops). They’ve created several circuits for participants in different fitness levels and ages. For the simpler trajectory you need not have a Tarzan physique, but it might still not be an exploit for the real couch potatoes. You need to be relatively fit and have enough power in hands and arms. Even though you will at all times be secured with a safety line, of course. The nice thing about these event parks is that you really need to get moving and shaking. This is a big contrast with mechanical amusement parks where your body is being moved and shaken by hellish machines. Anyhow, the whole thing plays out in beautiful scenery where the less climbing inclined can stay firmly on the ground and yell encouragements nursing a glass of wine. Talking of wine, this is the region between famous towns like Chardonnay and Pouilly Fuissé, so there are many things to enjoy. When everybody is tired of swinging among the trees, we’ll go and visit a wine château, where the owner will show us how he makes the most fantastic wines. Including a tasting, as you can imagine. This your is fun for the entire family, from 8 to 80 years old.
